New Year's Eve Kid-Friendly Party Ideas
As soon as you become a parent New Year's Eve is never quite the same, in fact we can't remember the last time we even made it to midnight (sad we know!). But there are loads of great ideas out there for making your NYE party fun for adults and kids, here's are favorite five!
1. Do something crafty...
There are so many great NYE craft ideas on Pinterest. Why not set up a party hat making station for all young guests to enjoy. Our little ones would love this DIY confetti poppers craft as well! Or you could challenge kids to make their own DIY countdown clock like these ones from The Interested Parent.
2. Do something together...
Any celebration is the perfect excuse to enjoy Making Time Together as a family. We love how One Artsy Mama created activity bags for her family to open and enjoy every hour on NYE! Our kids would love the mystery and excitement of clues and activities all night long! We've also seen some fun posts involving popping balloons every hour to reveal a hidden activity.
3. Do something delicious...
Any party needs delicious food so why not get your kids involved with making some yummy treats. I Heart Arts n Crafts has rounded up some awesome ideas, including cookies and milk toasting flutes, glowing cotton candy, confetti filled cookies, and our favorite, candy mocktails.
4. Do some reflecting and some planning...
How often do you stop and reflect with your kids? We always seem to be rushing forwards, so we will definitely try to make time to look back at the year together. There are some fun kid-friendly discussion sheets available which might work as perfect conversation prompts for your family. We like this simple one from Thirty Handmade Days.
5. Do something new and crazy...
End the night with a bang and let your kids experience something new and crazy. Whether it's their first time using sparklers, a glow in the dark bath, a torch-lit scavenger hunt, making a LEGO Ball Drop, or even enjoying a DIY balloon drop! It's all about those magical memories!
However you decide to celebrate, we wish you and your family all the best for the New Year!
