Get Messy with LEGOs: Frozen Minifigures!
This blog is part of a fve day 'Get Messy with LEGOs Challenge'. See the overview blog here.
Send your kids on a sensory-filled rescue mission to save their frozen Minifigures!
- LEGO minifigures
- ice cube trays
- squirt bottles and fine motor tools
- salt (optional)
Freezing Minifigures and having to rescue them is always a hit with our kids. Best of all, your kids can be hands-on with the set up too. Get them to choose their favorite Minifigures or even challenge them to build their own!
Place the Minifigures in an ice cube tray. Help them to fill the tray with water and put it in the freezer.
The next day they will get such a kick out of seeing their little friends enclosed in ice jails! Set them up with the ice cubes, some warm water, salt (optional) and fine motor tools and let them go wild trying to figure out how to rescue their little figures.
This is great as it has the sensory element and also a strong link to science as you can discuss with your kids how they can melt the ice quickly.
You'll be pleased to hear no Minifigures were hurt in the making of this blog. Don't forget to check out all of our other Get Messy with LEGOs activities!
